Another update, another problem. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players are dealing with a major headache after the latest update seemingly broke the Season 2 Battle Pass. Many fans are reporting that they can’t even access the feature, as the game either crashes or boots them back to the main lobby.
While regular updates are supposed to improve the game, players are growing increasingly frustrated with the cycle of new patches introducing fresh issues. Black Ops 6, one of the most popular entries in the franchise, has been under heavy scrutiny due to the sheer number of glitches and technical problems affecting gameplay. This latest blunder isn’t doing Treyarch any favors.
A Long-Awaited Update Gone Wrong
Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 finally launched on January 28 after one of the longest seasons in franchise history. Treyarch promised a massive content drop, bringing new multiplayer maps, weapons, events, and other additions to keep the community engaged. To address the growing list of complaints, Activision even put out a lengthy community update before the season started, assuring players that Season 2 would feature “notable bug fixes” based on player feedback.
And while the update did improve some aspects of the game, it also introduced new problems—one of the most frustrating being a completely broken Battle Pass.
Players Locked Out of Battle Pass After Update
Does anyone else have this loop when trying to access the battle pass?

On February 11, Treyarch rolled out a smaller update aimed at fixing bugs and making changes to the Ranked Play mode. Instead of smoothing out the experience, however, the update appears to have broken one of the game’s core features. Players on Reddit are now reporting that they are unable to access the Battle Pass tab at all. Instead, they’re instantly kicked back to the lobby.
A Reddit user by the name of Internal_Page_486 shared a post highlighting the issue, and it didn’t take long for dozens of other players to chime in, saying they were experiencing the same problem. It’s a frustrating situation, especially for those who have already spent money on the Battle Pass and now can’t even use it.
For now, Treyarch has yet to officially acknowledge the bug, leaving players without a clear fix. Some have discovered a temporary workaround—restarting the game—but that solution isn’t consistent. FlapjackUK, another Reddit user, mentioned that rebooting their Xbox Series X allowed them to access the Battle Pass, but the issue returned just 15 minutes later. Others have reported similar problems outside of the Battle Pass, with users like Ino4x4 and Dethlord_youtube claiming they’re also being sent back to the lobby when trying to edit their loadouts or customize weapons in the Gunsmith.
Not the First Time, Won’t Be the Last
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time an update has introduced serious problems to the game. Earlier this month, Treyarch had to release an emergency patch for the PC version of Black Ops 6 after a previous update caused widespread crashes. PC players reported an increase in blue screen errors, making the game unplayable for many. Although Treyarch was quick to respond to that issue, they’ve remained silent on this latest Battle Pass debacle.
As frustration mounts, players are calling for more thorough testing before updates go live. Call of Duty is one of the biggest franchises in gaming, and Black Ops 6 has an active, dedicated community. But if these technical issues continue, fans may start losing patience—and that’s not a good look for Activision and Treyarch.
For now, the only thing players can do is wait and hope for a fix. Until then, the Season 2 Battle Pass might as well be a locked vault, with no clear way to access the rewards they paid for. Let’s just hope Treyarch responds before things get even worse.
